In Q1 2023, the top five film and television apps on the iOS platform in Kenya demonstrated diverse performance trends. Data from Sensor Tower reveals intriguing insights into their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user numbers.

Netflix exhibited a relatively stable weekly revenue, peaking at around $1.6K in the week of February 27. The app's weekly downloads showed minor fluctuations, starting at 1.6K in late December and generally maintaining a range between 1K and 1.3K. Active users, however, saw a decline from approximately 43.7K in late December to around 39.2K by the end of March.

Showmax had a notable surge in weekly downloads, reaching 1.7K in the week of February 20, with a general range between 400 and 900 for the rest of the quarter. Active users saw an increase from 2.6K in late December to a peak of 4.1K in late February before stabilizing around 3.6K by the end of March.

DStv Stream maintained a steady pattern in weekly downloads, averaging around 300 to 400. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at approximately 8.2K in late December, peaking at 9.4K in early January, and ending at around 8.3K by the end of March.

Amazon Prime Video experienced a consistent weekly revenue, peaking at $1.4K in late February. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, ranging between 200 and 300. Active users remained steady, averaging around 2.7K throughout the quarter.

MyDStv Africa saw minimal fluctuations in weekly downloads, with figures hovering around 150 to 200. Active users showed a slight increase from approximately 2.6K in late December to around 2.7K by the end of March.
